Verse 10.3
yō māmajamanādiṃ ca

asammūḍhaḥ sa martyēṣu

मर्थेषु martheṣu among the mortals,
सः असंमूढः saḥ asaṃmūḍhaḥ that discriminative one
यः वेत्ति yaḥ vetti who knows me माम् अजम् mām ajam to be birthless अनादिम् anādim beginingless च लॊकमहेश्वरम् ca lokamaheśvaram and the great Lord of the universe प्रमुच्यते pramucyate becomes free सर्वपापैः sarvapāpaiḥ from all sins.
.Among mortals, that discriminative ones who knows Me to be birthless, causeless, and the great Lord of the Universe, becomes freed from all sins.
Spiritual progress is Evolution of the Human mind To see Divinity in all Creation
•An intelligent person will certainly apply his mind to know God, the cause of this universe
•The intelligent ones know that He is the causeless cause of this universe
•These are the ones that are ultimately liberated from samsara.

Lord’s Manifestations
Yoga/ Vibhuthi
Summary
True seeker understands the oneness of Yogah (unmanifest) and Vibhuthi (manifest) form of lord
Object to the Subject.
Just as clay has the potential to become a pot
The Lord has the potential or śakti to become the universe.
The visible form is called vibhūti.
The non-manifest form of this power is yoga
Such a seeker will graduate from viewing the world as illusory. ( Maya )

Verse 10.8
Ahaṃ sarvasya prabhavō mattaḥ sarvaṃ pravartatē |
iti matvā bhajantē māṃ budhā bhāvasamanvitāḥ || 10.8 ||
अहं प्रभ ahaṃ prabhavaḥ “I am the source” सव्सर sarvasya of everything सव
प्रव तर sarvaṃ pravartate everything proceeds मत्त mattaḥ from Me” मत्व इत
matvā iti knowing thus बुध ाः budhāḥ the wise ones भावसमिन्वता bhāvasamanvitāḥ
who are endowed with devotion भजन्त माम ् bhajante mām worship Me
8. “I am the source of everything, everything proceeds from Me.” – knowing
thus, the wise ones, who are endowed with devotion, worship Me.
VIBHŪTI YŌGA
•This verse talks about the Virat Bhaktha
•Shift from Ishwara Swaroopam to Aneka Roopa Ishwara Bhaktha
•Nature of Aneka Roopa Ishwara Bhaktha /Vishwa Roopa Ishwara Bhaktha
- Whatever he sees is divine and it can invoke devotion
- He sees every experience as originating from the Lord
-There is no other world other than God
• Ahaṁ sarvasya prabhavah – I am the source of everything
•Prabhavah means source – lord is the source of everything
•These bhakthas are at the intermediary level
•Intermediary means
Ista devatha swarupa
Aneka Rupa Ishwara
Arupa Ishwara
The privileges of a Vishwa Roopa Ishwara Bhaktha
Enjoys a lot of virtues and many values come naturally
Raga dvesha will weaken
Develops positive attitude
So now there is willingness to accept all as God’s will
Mattaḥ sarvaṁ pravartate – Everything proceeds from me
iti matvā – knowing this
He has only one attitude – prasada bhavana
The greatest karma yogi is a Virat Bhaktha
māṁ bhajante – This bhaktha worships me all the time who am present everywhere
budhā -They are the learned bhakthas – are informed bhakthas – virat ishwara jnanis
They are bhāvasamanvitāḥ
The whole universe is the manifestation of Lord
Always soaked in devotion
So he is always in relaxation
They do not require any stress management course
The wisdom – hope for the best , prepared for the worst.
Also the preparation is for welcoming – any experiences good or bad
A viśvarūpa īśvara bhakta worships īśvara with the understanding that He is the source of everything.
Everything proceeds from īśvara and therefore it is īśvara prasāda.
This weakens the rāga and dveṣa of the bhakta.
Likes and dislikes cause us to classify the world into favorable and unfavorable, good and bad etc.
When one knows that everything is a manifestation of God, it is impossible to like one part of God and not the other.

Context - Ishvara Swaroopam
vēdānāṃ sāmavēdō'smi dēvānāmasmi vāsavaḥ |
indriyāṇāṃ manaścāsmibhūtānāmasmicētanā || 10.22 ||
अस्मि सामवेदः asmi sāmavēdaḥ I am Samavēda वेदानाम् vēdānām among the Vēdas अस्मि वासवः asmi vāsavaḥ I am Indra देवानाम् devānām among Gods, अस्मि मनः asmi manaḥ I am the mind इन्द्रियाणाम् indriyāṇām among the senses च अस्मि चेतना ca asmi cetanā and I am the intelligence भूतानाम् bhūtānām in all beings.
22. I am Samavēda among the Vēdas, I am Indra among the Gods; I am the mind among the senses and I am the intelligence in all beings.
For moksha, we need to realise God
What is our idea of God?
-Creator-Saguna, with form
-Conscious & all-powerful
BUT
Details are vague, inferred
Creation and its Causes
Our Universe
•Intelligent cause seems obvious (God as Creator) –Aparoksha jnanam
•Material cause - not clear, incomplete knowledge
Question: What is the material God uses?
Answer: God himself
Pratyaksha jnanam
Saguna Glories
Innumerable, infinite
A few are named to meditate upon
Krishna names 72 important ones
We can choose to meditate on any particular one based on our inclination
Take home message
“I am the intelligence in all beings”
God is both the Intelligent and Material Cause
Material Cause can never be away from the effect
Ishwara is always in everything and everything is in Ishwara
We should revere everything around us as they are the glories of God

To Conclude
•TAT TVAM ASI
•SAT CHIT ANANTA
•SATHYAM JNANAM ANANTAM
•This is a MAHA VAKYA which equates every one of us- jeevatma to paramatma
•Poorna madah poornamidam means in each of us exists the
•SATYAM JNANAM ANANTAM BRAHMA Our true self
Second quarter POORNATH POORNAM UDACHYATE
•POORNATH=. From that paramatma
•POORNAM=. The jeevatma
•UDACHYATE= Is born
•This statement is based on KARYA-KARANA SAMBANDHA
• [Cause-effect relationship]
What is the relationship between the jeevatma[wave] and paramatma[ocean ]?
• The essential nature of both ocean and wave is WATER
• The essential nature of both paramatma and jeevatma is ATMA
• The micro wave is born out of the macro ocean.
• The microcosmic jeeva shariram is born out of the macrocosmic eshwara shariram.
• When associated with our essential nature we are ananta but when associated with a name and form we become microcosmic, egocentric limited individuals
Third quarter POORNASYA POORNAMADAYA
•POORNASYA =The combination product consisting of:
• 1] ATMA. =SHARIRI=The nithya ,sathya,ananta aspect
• 2]ANATMA =SHARIRAM =The anithya, mithya ,limited aspect
•POORNA=ATMA =SHARIRI
•AADAYA=IF NEGATED OR REMOVED
•Poornasya poornamadaya means:
•If we were to negate the atma aspect of either jeevatma or paramatma what would we be left with?
Fourth quarter POORNAMEVAVASISHYATE
•POORNAM EVA AVASISHYATE
• POORNAM=ATMA= SHARIRI ALONE REMAINS IN EXISTENCE
•Again seemingly illogical
•We expect the anatma or shariram to remain by logical deduction
•Poornam evavasishyate therefore means that anatma has no existence independent of atma
The message to remember
•BRAHMA SATHYA JAGATH MITHYA
•JEEVO BRAHMAIVA NAPARAH
